Until recently many recessed light fittings have been installed into ceilings with no form of fire protection. Greenough fire rated down lights can change this. The need for fire rated down lights has come about due to a loss of fire and acoustic protection that a ceiling has after lots of holes have been made in it to fit recessed light fittings – known as down lights. Common recessed light fittings wouldn't be able to protect you in the event of a fire as there would be nothing to stop the heat, flames and smoke from passing through the fitting and into the ceiling void and therefore spreading further throughout the building. This is not the case with our fire rated down lights as they feature a special design that provides 90 minutes of protection in the event of a fire. The special design of the fire rated down lights feature a material in the fitting that expands with heat and completely seals the unit, which prevents fire from filling the void above and spreading. Our fire rated down lights have undergone numerous fire tests costing tens of thousands of pounds in order to obtain the necessary certification.
Our LED Driverless Fire Rated Down light comprises of 6W 10w driverless LED AC COB chip or SMD2835, down light fitting, AC110-240V mains energy supply and a 50,000 lifespan. They are with separate dimmable LED driver is unlike many other down lights featured on Light Up UK as it does not use the standard GU10 lamps, instead it has a completely integrated LED Low energy unit. The 10w Driverless LED down light comes dimmable as standard with 60 degree or 120 degree beam angle with fixed beam and 38 degree or 60 degree beam angle for 6W / 90 minute Fire Rating and IP44 Rating. Warm white / Pure white / Cool white are available, in a standard (matt) white color finish or silver color finish.
Not only is this 10w dimmable LED down light Fire Rated which is ideal for commercial applications but it is also IP65 classed so it is suitable for Bathroom zones.
Also we supply chrome Fire rated led down light with 6W GU10 MR16 led spotlight included on the Kit and it is equivalent to 50W of halogen light. The Fire Rated Down light produces a brilliant color making it great for mood lighting or highlighting aspects of a property. Also includes 90 minutes fire rated protection and the body is ventilated for optimum operating temperature with intumescent material that seals the down light in case of fire.
